His artistic career began in a traditional dance group, and shortly after, he joined the youth group Gorrión, marking the start of his singing career. Over the years, he participated in several musical projects, including local orchestras in his city, eventually becoming a professional member of the iconic orchestra Los Hijos Del Rey, led at the time by singer Tony Medrano, former lead singer of the famous merengue orchestra Rasputin.

Romy Rick wanted to grow his career, and his time with Los Hijos Del Rey lasted only a few months before he headed to Europe. There, he fulfilled one of his greatest dreams: forming his own project, La Orquesta Randy, and later La Banda Fruta Nueva. He recorded one musical production with La Orquesta Randy and two with La Banda Fruta Nueva (the first two featuring salsa and merengue, and a third full bachata production).

With these projects, he crossed borders within European territory, participating in well-known concerts and festivals in Europe, such as the Zomercarnaval in Rotterdam, Holland, the Latin Village festival also in Holland, the Pole Pole festival, and Antilliaanse Feesten in Belgium, among others, sharing stages with great stars of Latin music.

Among his greatest achievements are his participation in 2004 representing Holland at the second world song festival held in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In 2013, he was recognized in London as a breakthrough artist. In 2020, he won the soloist of the year award at the Danzatlantica awards in Gran Canaria, Spain, and in 2022, also at Danzatlantica, he won the best Latin Single award and the Concordia award.

Romy Rick also works in radio and television broadcasting—a facet many already know—maintaining an unstoppable pace when it comes to recordings and concerts.

His way and style of feeling and interpreting music make Romy Rick one of the main exponents of Latin music.
